Ep #170: Q&A Episode on Referrals

As has become tradition with this podcast, every 10th episode I answer listener-submitted or Facebook group-submitted questions on referrals, client experience, and goals.

I answer anything that are in close alignment with those three focus areas.  (I call these my zones of genius… curious what your zones are?)

We have two great questions for this episode.

Ever heard of a Network Announcement Letter?  It’s when you send a letter to your network to let them know what you are doing.  Sometimes it’s sent when you are starting out, other times when you change direction, focus or add a new offering.  And sometimes just because you’re trying to shake the trees to get some interest, engagement, etc.

I give some ideas of how you can try to get these to work – I say try because I think they are highly ineffective.  But you are in charge of your business and if you want to try it, so be it. If you prove me wrong, I’d love to know.

But whatever you do – do not use one of these letters to generate referrals or have the by-product expectation they will generate referrals.  I dive in to why on the episode.

And the second question comes from Jerry.  He asked about staying top of mind with existing and previous clients.

Make sure to hop into our Referrals Without Asking Facebook group to ask your questions and share your thoughts!  And as always, you can submit a question to be answered on the podcast by emailing me directly or posting it in the Referrals Without Asking Facebook group.
