Ep #021: Thanksgiving Thoughts About Your Referral Sources

In this episode we are uncovering the two keys your holiday cards need to have if you want them to make an impact on your referral sources.    

Here are some highlights:

If you are going to take the time to have a card printed and mailed, you want to make sure those receiving the card actually pay attention to it. 
For people to pay attention to your card, it needs to connect with them...meaning get their attention so they stop long enough to really "see" it.
How do you do that?  

1. Aim to make your card stand out.

By adding a personal touch to your holiday card - like a card which features a picture of your family or employees (or both) - you are able to connect on a human level.  And that human level is important because people buy from people, not businesses.
Here are the 3 examples I mentioned.
Here is the Dogtopia Holiday Card...where Nicole hit a home run having her family in the photo along with the employees and their pets!

Next up is the Produce Box example...where some of the farmers are featured thanking us for using the Produce Box to buy their produce and good!

And finally...here is my family's Christmas card from a few years ago...showing us as a house divided and united!

2. Sign your name and add a personal note

Now if you are following point #1 above you don't have to sign your name to the card. But if you are going with a more generic - non-personalized or handmade card - then take a moment to sign your name and add a personal note to the recipient.
